The Christian Science community offers many financial resources for caring for its own. Assistance to individuals tends to fall into two broad categories.
Most, if not all, Christian Science facilities also offer benevolence to those who would benefit from the facility but do not have the resources to cover the full cost. Eligibility typically centers around answers to the following questions:

The grants may cover anything from Christian Science nursing fees, facility fees, and practitioner fees to short-term or emergency assistance for basic living expenses. Each foundation has its own parameters for the type of expense it covers and which part of the U.S. it includes. Should you or a loved one need financial help, one of the organizations below may be able to provide just the right assistance. In addition, most Christian Science nursing facilities offer benevolence to those who would benefit from the care but do not have the resources to cover the full cost.
The Dominion Foundation assists with Christian Science nursing costs when care has been provided in the home. Grants are available nationwide in the US; they are not limited to a specific state or region. A few specifics to be aware of in regard to The Dominion Foundation: Care must be provided in the home, not a facility. Christian Science nurses’ bills are eligible for payment; Christian Science practitioner bills are not; Only unpaid bills are eligible for payment.

The National Fund for Christian Science Nursing (NFCSN) is a benevolence fund that can assist Christian Science nursing patients in the United States and its territories. The fund can help in any situation where a Christian Science nurse is needed, including in-home care and facilities. NFCSN grants can help pay costs associated with Christian Science nursing facilities and Christian Science visiting nurse services, Christian Science private-duty nurses, and related Christian Science practitioner invoices. NFCSN is a fund administered by The Principle Foundation.

The Christian Science Nursing Care Endowment provides financial assistance to Christian Scientists in Southern California who need Christian Science nursing care but cannot afford it. To be eligible you must reside within the Southern California zip code range of 90000 to 93599. Grants assist with Christian Science nursing care in a facility or at home. They do not assist with associated bills such as food and lodging, assisted living, or rest and study.

High Oaks Inc. assists individuals in a six-state region who are relying on Christian Science for healing and need assistance on a temporary basis with payments for Christian Science nursing care — in a facility or at home — and with Christian Science practitioner fees. High Oaks considers requests for emergency funds for other than nursing or practitioner needs on a short-term basis. All benevolence is offered in support and expectation of healing. Eligible applicants are students of Christian Science who reside in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia or the District of Columbia.

Midland at Home has funds available to assist with Christian Science nursing for residents of Indiana and nearby communities in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, and Illinois. If, having applied to the National Fund for Christian Science Nursing, there are additional financial needs, Midland may be able to help with Christian Science nursing and Christian Science practitioner bills. Funds can be used for care provided at home or at a Christian Science care facility.

The Sunnyside Foundation assists practicing Christian Scientists residing in Texas with a variety of needs including, but not limited to, Christian Science nursing care. Applicants must be a member of The Mother Church or an active member of a branch church in Texas. Applications are reviewed once per month and should be received by the second Friday of the month for consideration that month. Categories of assistance are education, summer camp, Christian Science nursing care, and general assistance.

We also fund Christian Science nursing training and education for Journal-listed, non Journal-listed Christian Science nurses, and Christian Scientists in Florida who wish to become a Christian Science nurse.
