Overview
Cohousing is a community intentionally designed with ample common spaces surrounded by private homes. Collaborative spaces typically include a central building with a large kitchen and dining room, laundry, recreational areas, outdoor walkways, open space, gardens, and parking. The Association estimates that there are about 170 cohousing communities across the nation, with 140 more in development. This link takes you to their directory of cohousing communities by state.
