Transportation

Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. (Exodus 23:20)

Transportation can be among the simplest activities we engage in — usually convenient, quick, and affordable. But if running errands or getting to church has become more difficult because of changing circumstances, we need new ways to think about transportation and a willingness to draw on new resources. This section provides a number of different options for meeting immediate needs for local and long-distance travel.

For example, one of the things that volunteers say they are most able to give someone is a ride — to church, the grocery store, etc. When we allow ourselves to be helped in this way, we (and our helper) fulfill the scripture: “. . . that your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want” (II Cor. 8:14). It’s a mutual blessing.
